Day 30 - Rascal Flatts

Pam (my sister) and I went to the Rascal Flatts concert at Copps Coliseum last night. It was a fabulous concert with Darius Rucker opening for them. Two great country acts on one ticket. It takes a little bit of practice to get them so their not blurry but I managed to get some great shots with my new camera.

 

 

 

 

Day 29 - The Afternoon Nap

They are both fighting a cold today and so I thought it was best if they had a nap. So we all laid down around 1 and by 1:30 we were all asleep. I woke about 20 minutes later and had to snap this picture. 

Day 28 - Grand River Gymmies

Today was Lexi first day at the gymnastics club. I spent many a day in my youth with this club and so hope that she enjoys her time there as well. She goes for 2 hours on Thursdays in the Up, Down, All Around class. 
 

Day 27 - Overdose

This medicine resulted in a call to both Telehealth and Poison Control on Wednesday night. Aaron misread the dose of 1 Tsp as 1 Tbsp and ended up giving Zach a triple dose of cough syrup! Thankfully it just made Zach very sleepy and not hyper active as the nurse warned us might happen. She also said that it's a common mistake and that Aaron must not be the cook/baker of the family!

 

Day 26 - A visit to School

It's that time of year when the parents get a little inside look at what happens in school - parent/teacher interview/viewing. It was my turn to go and see what a good little boy Zach is or isn't being while at school 2 -3 days per week. I'm happy to report that he is very well behaved and is learning everything that is needed/required of him. There is always more to learn and something to work towards.

 

Day 25 - The Bachelor Party

This is what a typical Monday night is like for me (when the Bachelor is on TV!) My Mom, my sister and my neighbour and I take turns hosting our weekly Bachelor (viewing) Party with drinks and snacks. We dish over which girl is going to be the last one with a rose and comment on all of the drama that occurs. A fun time is had by all! 
 

Day 24 - Another Morning Hockey practice

As I totally forgot to take a picture on Saturday, I took my camera to Zach's hockey practice once again. A nice picture of Dad giving some advice to his son. I'm just not sure if Zach is listening. Is anyone getting bored with the hockey shots? 
 

Day 22 - Zoom Zooms

So Friday was one of Zach's non school days so I was looking for something for us to do. It had been a long time since we were to an indoor playground so we headed off to Zoom Zooms in Ancaster. They had such a great time. I thought for sure they would nap in the afternoon once we got home but NO. That's alright as Aaron took Zach to the Corvair game and Lexi was asleep on my shoulder about 10 minutes later = a quiet night. 

Day 21 - Sunrise

The sun was just coming up over the horizon when Lexi and I took Zach out for the bus this morning. My original intention was to grap a picture of the bus stopping to pick him up but I can always take that another day. 

Day 20 - Spotted while doing the Dishes

I was looking out the window while doing the dishes around noon hour and saw a couple of Blue Jays. I could only find the one by the time I switched lenses on the camera. I have also cropped the photo so it looks like I got much closer to it than I really was.  

Day 19 - An Afternoon Nap

Lexi fell asleep in the truck on the way home from town this afternoon and then wouldn't fall back asleep in her bed. So we had a nice cuddle on the couch while I watched some "Days". 

Day 18 - After thought

Another day had almost come and gone and I had forgotten to take a picture. So after a very nice evening out for my usual "The Bachelor" party with my neighbours, our cat, Pudge, was curled up on the sofa in the basement and became my subject for Monday's picture. 

Day 17 - A Walk in the Fog

It was nice out this afternoon and so I took advantage of it and went for a walk around our place. This was about 3:30 in the afternoon and it really looked like morning with the fog. What a pretty picture! 

Day 16 - Life at the Rink

Zach had hockey practice at 8am on Saturday. And so I feel like this is a prefect picture for a hockey morning - coffee for me and Timbits for Lexi! 

PS - There is no picture for Friday (Day 15). Two misses in one week - I really must get better.

Day 14 - Home from School

This is the one picture I took today and I really like it. Lexi will not stay in the house for the 3 mintues it takes me to get Zach off the bus and so she and I go out together. She is always so excited when he gets home. 

Day 13 - First Miss

OK, so I didn't take any pictures on Wednesday. I can't believe that I failed so soon but that's life. So here is a couple of pictures that I could have taken. These were taken on January 3rd. I help out during Hamilton Bulldogs games in their merchandise store - The Dawg House with my sister-in-law Anne. It has been a pretty busy couple of weeks - 9 games in the last 17 days and one more tomorrow night. I am so ready for a night on the couch. 
 

Day 12 - My Kids' Favourite Things

I was at a loss as to what picture to take for Tuesday and so just before the kids bedtime this is what I came up with. . 











Zach's favourite stuffed animals are his Webkinz Zebra (Christmas gift from Aunt Pam) named Rookie and his tiger named Stripes. Lexi has 2 dolls and plays with the bigger one everyday. And according to her the "baby is naked". 

Day 11 - Another Day at the KED Rink

Just the equipment needed for an outdoor rink.  











This time Aunt Pam took Zach out for a skate and some hockey practice. She wore him out so much that he refused to walk to the house and since we had a dentist appointment to get to Aunt Pam had to carry him to the house.  

Day 10 - My Little Hockey Player

 So by now I hope you can tell that we are quite the hockey family. Today was Zach's Tyke team's turn to be the Timbit hockey game during the 1st intermission of the local Jr. C hockey game - The Corvairs. Zach was so excited that when he came home from practice yesterday morning he called them the "Polar Bears"! He was so close to scoring his team's only goal but came up a little short - I think the puck came to rest on the goal line!
  

Day 9 - Meet an old friend of mine

On Saturday, I met up with one of my old friends from the university days. We had just lost touch over the years and never knew how to contact each other until we ran into one another at a Blue Jays game in September. We talked of how we should get together and catch up which is what led to Saturdays long lunch.
