October 2, Day 273 - Derby Car Parade

The 8 cylinder cars are paraded down the street with a police escort.

 

Caledonia Fair's 1st Vice President, Sharon Soules, was given a ride in the first car. She will take part in next years demo derby.

 

October 1, Day 272 - Demo Derby

Aaron celebrated his birthday at the Caledonia Fair watching the Demo Derby with Zach, Lexi and me. Up close to all the action until the finale when we moved onto the grandstand for a better view for the kids.

 

 

 

September 30, Day 271 - Monarch Butterfly

Zach thought to check the butterfly this morning before school and to our surprise it was ready to leave the peanut butter jar it had been in.

 

 

 

It's a male butterfly as it has the 2 black glands on it's lower wings.

September 29, Day 270 - Autumn Trees and Sunset

I was trying to find a nice picture of autumn trees to enter in the Fair (nothing like leaving things to the last minute!). It was a hard task as I didn't have any and the trees are just starting to turn now. This is the one I entered - it's the driveway off Highway 54 into Big Creek Boat Farm.

 

There was a nice sunset tonight, too.
